Grey Faced Dartmoor Girls

Antonia, Ceres and LaraAs promised photos of the latest girls - their names are Antonia, Ceres and Lara - all of which are good old fashioned Roman girls' names.

The Dartmoors are mixing well with the Ryelands, but are a little unsure of the dogs as yet.  Decimus seems to have made best friends with the Texel Ram.

The long winter nights are becoming a bore.  We are starting to sort out all the lambing dates and get organised for the first few who start at the end of January.

Got to ensure that the girls all have their Heptavac P injection in good time.

More Greyfaced Dartmoors arrive at Oakberrow

Today we picked up 3 more in-lamb Grey Faced Dartmoor ewes from the Vespasian flock in Wells, Somerset and a very handsome ram called Decimus.  So hopefully we have the nucleus of the Oakberrow flock of pedigree Grey Faced Dartmoors.  Pictures to follow!!! Watch this space

Grey Faced Dartmoor Sheep to Oakberrow

At last I have done it!!!! Acquired some Grey faced Dartmoor sheep.  For very many years I have admired this breed and took the jump and bought 3 in-lamb ewes from the Muddl'le flock from Shrewsbury owned by Liz Dawson.  Steve and I had a great time choosing our girls and Liz was most informative about the breed.

So Dot, Willow and Cleo have arrived at Oakberrow and we are truly smitten with these gorgeous girls who will hopefully lamb in February. This is Dot

What a Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!

Oakberrow Wotzinaname - otherwise known as FosterGin and Foster both went to West Country Dog Show on Sunday down at The Hand Stadium in Clevedon.  Foster won Best of Breed under Ann Jowsey and then Gundog Group 2 under Colin Woodward.  Brilliant!

Gin won Best of Breed Hungarian Wirehaired Pointer under Colin and was also shortlisted in the Gundog Group.  There was strong competition in the Group with 17 breeds being represented.

Both are looking forward to their first day on Wednesday at Mike's shoot at Twyning where Stowford the baby Hungarian Wirehaired will be joining the team.
